Art Explorers & After School Artists

Explorers: Ages 3-5
Artists: Grades K-2

We are so excited to have Abby Spivak, founder of Happy Place Creative Studio, join us for classes starting this fall!  These process-based art classes encourage young artists to explore creativity through hands-on projects in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and crafting. Designed for ages 3–5 and grades K–2, the classes combine independent and collaborative art experiences that build foundational artistic abilities while supporting confidence, self-expression, fine and gross motor development, socialization, imagination, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Weekly projects are inspired by real-world themes, cultural moments, trends, holidays, and age-appropriate topics like friendship and kindness, making each session both engaging and meaningful.​

Meet Abby!

Abby Spivak, earned degrees in Fine Arts, Art History, and
Communications at the University of Pennsylvania. Her unique background combines time spent in Art and Fashion departments at Ralph Lauren, Teen Vogue Magazine and
Cosmopolitan Magazine, a decade in Product Development designing and producing clothes at Macy’s and five years as the Global Marketing Lead for GapKids and babyGap managing international creative campaigns. Abby has fostered a lifelong passion for all things creative; making things and expressing herself through drawing, painting, and crafting is Abby’s true definition of a happy place. Yearning for a creative outlet during her corporate years, she founded Further Lane Paperie, a design business dedicated to hand-painted invitations, paper goods and personalized items. In becoming a mom of two, constantly crafting in both normal and unprecedented times, she identified her desire to combine her two passions: art and kids. Happy Place Creative Studio is the culmination of this dream; a realization of a decades’-worth of ideas, projects close to heart and a desire to pass along the joy and excitement that she finds in making art and crafts to the next generation.

Baby Creators & Tiny Creators

Ages 7 months-3 years

Let your little one’s creativity bloom in this hands-on, mess-friendly sensory art class designed just for infants and toddlers! Each week, children will explore colors, textures, and materials through age-appropriate art and sensory activities that support fine motor skills, early cognitive development, and self-expression. From finger painting to squishy playdough and nature-inspired crafts, every class offers a safe, nurturing space for exploration and bonding—with plenty of opportunities for giggles, discovery, and delight. Grown-up participation is encouraged as we celebrate the joy of creating together!​

A new extension of Tiny Creators.

Does your child enjoy group classes and stay engaged for longer stretches of play? Do they love sensory-rich experiences, but you’re looking for something with a bit more structure and rhythm?

Through our Tiny Creators classes, part of our goal is bringing a play-based classroom experience into the community for children and their grown-ups to share together.

Tiny Creators Circle is a longer-form caregiver-and-child class that blends open-ended sensory play and process art with gentle, classroom-inspired routines.

We follow the familiar flow of our Tiny Creators classes and extend the experience with consistent routines like Snack Time, Story Time, and organized rug play. These shared moments support independence, social connection, and confidence within a warm, consistent group experience.

Caretaker + Me Art Pals

Ages 2.5 – 4

Art Pals is a Caretaker and Me class for ages 2.5-4. Each week we create an art project based on a book. This class is great for developing your child's fine motor and socialization skills. ​
