Service Description

Chemisty Chaos from the STEM Alliance! Chemistry Chaos allows students to explore the science behind chemical reactions, the properties of elements, and the structure of compounds through hands-on chemistry experiments. They’ll learn about density, volume and mass as they construct a mini lava lamp, explore the role of catalysts on an exothermic reaction while making foaming toothpaste, and investigate the structure of DNA as they extract it from wheat germ. Along the way, they'll also learn about lab safety and how to handle chemicals properly and responsibly. Class dates: Sept 19, 26; Oct 3, 10, 17, 24; Nov 7, 14 *No class 10/31 *Make-up Nov 21
